Casemiro has made an eye-catching comeback at Manchester United, with the Brazilian back on the Red Devils’ scoresheet in the win over Aston Villa.
Manchester United defender Lenny Yolo has revealed that all of the Red Devils’ stars want Casemiro to stay at the club. The Brazilian confirmed earlier this season that he would leave the club at the end of the season.
His contract has an option to extend his stay for another season, but neither the club nor the player will accept it. Since then, Casemiro has completed a remarkable turnaround at Old Trafford.
Yoro revealed that many in the dressing room wanted him to stay after scoring his seventh goal of the season in the recent win over Aston Villa.
“Everyone wanted him to stay, he’s a really important player for us,” the French defender said.
“Every day, even in the dressing room, he gains experience that no one else in the team can. He won everything and that helped us a lot, not only during the game, but also off the pitch.”

United manager Carrick was also asked about Casemiro’s future after the win against Villa, but he reiterated that there would be no U-turn. He said: “I think when something is decided, in a way the fact that it’s decided makes things a little bit easier and everyone really understands the situation.
“Ever since I came here and worked with him and experienced his influence within the team and the big moments and goals, I think his impact has been incredible.”
United icon Wayne Rooney was also full of praise for Casemiro after his goal. The legendary former forward revealed on Match of the Day that he had been offered a new contract at Old Trafford.
“I would do that now,” replied the United legend. “I said early on when I was at Manchester United that I didn’t think he had the legs to go round. I think a few people felt the same way, but I take that back. I think he was really good.”
Casemiro has only eight appearances left for Manchester United between now and the end of the season, starting with this Friday’s game against Bournemouth on the south coast. He could help the Red Devils qualify for the Champions League before he leaves, with United currently sitting third in the table, three points behind bottom rivals Villa.
