Tottenham Hotspur head coach Igor Tudor has had an exchange with Sky Sports reporter Patrick Davidson about being asked again about his future with Spurs.
Igor Tudor called out Sky Sports reporter Patrick Davidson during a live interview after being asked about his future at Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs’ interim manager insisted head coaches should not answer such questions and should instead leave decisions up to the club.
Tudor said after Tottenham drew 1-1 with Liverpool at Anfield. The visitors canceled out Dominik Szoboszlai’s free-kick that had given them the lead on Sunday, with Richarlison equalizing late on.
After losing their first five games in charge, Tudor’s team finally picked up a point. However, questions still remain about his future.

Davidson asked: “Have you shown that you can give that hope? Have you shown that you don’t need a new manager?”
Mr. Tudor responded by appearing to place a hand on the interviewer’s shoulder before interrupting the question. The Croatian interjected: “That’s enough, I always say what I think.”
The reporter replied: “But don’t you think sometimes these questions need to be asked and need to be answered? There are a lot of Spurs fans around the world…”
After hearing enough, Tudor replied, “That’s not a question for me. I’m the coach. You need to ask me about how we play.” “Yes,” Davidson insisted, and Tudor agreed, “Yes, and I answered.
“This question that journalists like to ask is a meaningless question. If you ask a coach about his position, this doesn’t make sense. All the coaches say the same thing all the time, but you always ask this.
“So the coach is obligated to be at this press conference, so he has to answer something. Otherwise, he wants to stay home, but you always make the case with pretty much the same question.”
Davidson explained, “No, but the point is that we can give you hope, right? That’s what you said in your interview on Friday,” before being cut off again.

Prime Minister Tudor insisted, “I didn’t say that. What did I say?” “You said that sometimes people need hope from a new manager, but all I’m saying is, did you show with Tottenham’s performance today that you can give them hope?”
To which the Spurs manager asked: “What do you think I’m going to answer now? Do you perhaps want me to answer? What question? What do I need to say to you now? No?”
“You can say whatever you want,” Davidson clarified. Coach Tudor continued: “Let me just say this, what are you going to tell the players? Absolutely, so this is the answer you want to hear.”
The reporter then repeated, “Just say whatever you want.” Tudor then looked away and asked, “Are you done or not?” Davidson agreed: “It’s over.”
