Liverpool star Alisson Becker is reportedly set to sign for European giants Juventus, but the Reds have already made moves to keep him at the club.
Liverpool have activated the option to extend Alisson’s contract to avoid interest from Juventus. The Brazilian goalkeeper’s current contract is due to expire this summer, and he could be on a free transfer.
Juventus are said to be interested in Alisson, but it seems unlikely that a move will take place anytime soon. Liverpool have activated the option to extend his contract for a further campaign which would see him commit to the club until 2027.
This latest information comes amid news from Italy that Juventus will attempt a new move for his services. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian giants are prioritizing the signing of a new goalkeeper, with Alisson being their top priority, with Spurs star Guglielmo Vicario also seen as a potential option.
It has also been suggested that Juventus are hoping to use their past relationship with former Roma colleague Luciano Spalletti to persuade Alisson to leave. The Serie A side will also be willing to pay him the 6 million euros (approximately 510 million yen) annual salary he demands.

Alisson, 33, joined from Roma for €75m (about £64m) in 2018 and has proven to be an exciting signing for Liverpool. He went on to make 330 appearances, winning two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup and the League Cup.
Should Liverpool decide to cash in, they already have Alisson’s replacement at Anfield, having signed Giorgi Mamadashvili in the summer. His minutes have been limited this season, making just 12 appearances in all competitions.
“When I was at Valencia, my former goalkeeper coach Jose Manuel Ochotorena told me that I had to find a balance between ambition and patience,” the Georgian said recently. “So I keep working hard, but you never know when the opportunity will come.
“Of course, there is only one goalkeeper, so it is never easy. But like I said, if I don’t play, I don’t care – I have to work hard every day and that’s it. My time will come. It may not be this year, but my time will come.”
“It was a bit long for me too (joining Liverpool) because I signed for Liverpool two years ago, almost three years ago, and I had to wait until I got here last season. It was a really long year for me, but now I’m happy to be here.”
“The most important thing for me was the support. I didn’t speak much English, so that helped me. Mac Allister, Alison (helped) as well, and now I can speak much better.”
Mamadashvili could get his chance this weekend as Alisson undergoes a late fitness test ahead of Sunday’s game against Tottenham.
