Embattled Tottenham Hotspur interim manager Igor Tudor will be without 11 players for their match against Liverpool. Spurs head to Anfield looking to end a disastrous 11-game winless run in the Premier League and six consecutive defeats in all competitions.
Tudor revealed in his pre-match press conference that Cristian Romero and Joao Parinha were ruled out after a head clash in Tuesday’s 5-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid. Asked if Romero and Parinha would be fit for the trip to Liverpool, Tudor replied: “No, no, they (Romero and Parinha) are unavailable.”
“I don’t know[how long they will be away]but I think they will definitely be back, for Nottingham Forest and maybe for the Champions League.”
Yves Bissouma is out with a muscle problem, but Tudor confirmed Conor Gallagher is fit despite battling a fever. Micky van de Ven will receive a one-match ban following his red card against Crystal Palace earlier this month.
Destiny Oudogie was expected to recover from a hamstring problem ahead of the game against Anfield, but Tudor admitted the Italian should be ready for selection for next weekend’s game against Nottingham Forest. Wilson Odbert, James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur, Mohamed Kudus, Ben Davies and Lukas Bergvall remain long-term casualties.
Odbert will be sidelined until the end of 2026 after injuring his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) last month. Meanwhile, Maddison suffered a torn ACL before preseason last year and is aiming to return early next season.
Kulusevski has not featured for nearly 12 months due to a knee problem, but the Swede is progressing well and could feature before the end of the current campaign. Bentancur is aiming to return in May after a serious hamstring setback, while Kudus could return in April from a thigh injury.
Davis underwent ankle surgery and is optimistic he can return in April, while Bergvall injured his ankle in January and could be available next month.
