Tottenham have been forced to extend their season ticket renewal deadline as fans still do not know whether they will be playing in the Premier League or the Championship.
Tottenham are forced to extend their season ticket renewal period to give fans “full clarity on next season” as relegation remains a possibility.
North Londoners usually try to get their season ticket holders to renew in advance, but fans were no doubt anxious to know if they were going to watch Premier League football, so tickets had to be kept open for an “extended period”.
Tottenham’s demise was a grim one, with fan anger growing as the weeks went by. Those living on the Spurs side of north London will have to pay the second highest price for a season ticket on the top flight, but it’s not worth the money.
Tottenham have won just two of their 15 home games this season and lost nine. Their last home win was against Burnley on 6 December, and their last game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was a loss to Crystal Palace, with thousands of fans leaving at half-time.
As a result, club leaders have been forced to give fans extra time before deciding whether to remain season ticket holders. An email to supporters read: “As previously communicated, renewals for general admission season tickets for 2026/27 will begin today, 12 March. In accordance with the Ticket Charter published in March 2024, we are committed to commencing renewals by 15 March each year.”

“We recognize the seriousness of the men’s team’s current league position and, following consultation with our Fan Advisory Committee and the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust, we can confirm that we are extending the renewal period for the 2026/27 season until Sunday 7 June to ensure fans have complete clarity about next season before renewal.”
The new date is two weeks after the final game of the season at home to Everton, after which Tottenham will find out whether they retain their Premier League status. They currently sit one point above the bottom three with nine games remaining.
Tottenham’s problem is that they are a top team in the worst form, without a win in their last 11 games. They have already changed managers and shown Thomas Frank the door, but his replacement Igor Tudor has endured a dreadful start in the dugout.
Tottenham have to face relegation rivals Nottingham Forest and Leeds before the season ends, and these games could have a big impact on who stays. They also confront the crypt side Wolves who have drifted at the bottom.
