Chelsea’s squad was leaked ahead of the defeat against PSG, with the media posting their starting XI as Liam Rosenior vowed to find out what was behind Inter’s defeat.
Liam Rosenior insisted he would “get to the bottom of it” after being informed of a possible leak of team information within Chelsea’s camp before PSG’s defeat.
The Blues put in a brave performance for more than an hour in Paris before suspending the game late, leaving them with a mountain to climb if they are to keep their Champions League hopes alive in next week’s second leg.
The press had caught up with Chelsea’s starting lineup and were doing their rounds by midday. Eight hours before kick-off at the Parc des Princes. Their information was correct and their lineup was mixed with PSG for a long time.
Rosenior was questioned about how the information was leaked, but he initially did not know about it, but insisted the Chelsea manager would look into the situation. He said, “I didn’t know. If that’s the case, I’m sure the truth will be revealed.”
Chelsea have achieved some impressive results in Europe this season, beating Barcelona at Stamford Bridge and scoring a notable win at Napoli. With 16 minutes left, the European champions were tied at 2-2, but Vicinha made it 3-2 and Juvica Kvaratschelia, who came off the bench, grabbed his second goal late on.

PSG’s third goal was due to a mistake by goalkeeper Philipp Jorgensen. The Dane employed a risky strategy with the ball at his feet all night, but eventually broke the deadlock. He gave up possession and was lobbed by Vicinha, which proved to be a key moment.
However, Rosenior was not interested in reprimanding the goalkeeper. “Players make mistakes,” he said. “It’s not Filip’s first time to make a mistake. That’s part of football. Obviously, it’s frustrating…I think at that moment, 2-2, we were in the lead. We could have been even at 3-3 with one more step.”
“I think Joao Pedro’s goal was just a few inches offside. But at the top level, at the Champions League level, it’s close. And the fifth goal hurt the most. We were not calm. We didn’t deal with the basic patterns of play. They scored the fifth goal and it made the tie very difficult for us.”
PSG are aiming to become the second team in the Champions League era to defend their crown and Rosenior admits they have talent that is hard to find in England.
“In the Premier League, we don’t have Due, we don’t have Ousmane Dembele, we don’t have Juvica Kvaratschelia, we don’t have Vicinha, we don’t have Joao Neves,” he said after the match. “It’s an extraordinary team. An extraordinary European champion.”
