Cristiano Ronaldo is set to play in his final World Cup with Portugal this summer in the United States, Mexico and Canada, and the veteran forward is giving his all for the start of the tournament.
Cristiano Ronaldo is undergoing pressotherapy in time for the World Cup. The 41-year-old is scheduled to play in his final major international tournaments this summer in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
However, the Portuguese icon suffered a hamstring injury while playing for Al Nasr last month and faces a race against time to get fit.
“The tests have shown that Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury was more serious than expected,” Al Nasr coach Jorge Jesus said on Friday.
“Cristiano, like the other players who went for treatment when injured, will now travel to Spain. His injury required treatment by a dedicated therapist in Madrid. We hope that he will be able to return soon and help the team.”
But Ronaldo turned to cutting-edge technology to regain full fitness. The forward shared an image of himself undergoing pressotherapy, which essentially uses a pneumatic machine to inflate his suit.

The suit is designed to compress the user’s arms, legs, or abdomen in rhythmic motions to help drain lymph and relieve swelling and pain.
Ronaldo’s current employers Al Nasr will be back in action this weekend against Al Khaleej. Portugal will face Colombia and Uzbekistan in Group K of the World Cup, but it has not yet been decided which teams will play.
Before that, warm-up games against Mexico and the United States are scheduled, but it remains to be seen whether Ronaldo will be able to maintain sufficient condition. The forward has already admitted that the next tournament will be his last.
Earlier this season he said: “When I say immediately, I’m going to go back and say, I’m really enjoying this moment.
“As you know in football, when you get to a certain age you count the months very quickly, so it’s good for now.
“As I said before, I’m feeling really good right now, I’m scoring goals, I still have the speed and sharpness, I’m enjoying playing with the national team and with Al Nasr, but to be honest, of course, it’s probably a year or two before I’ll be able to play any more in the near future.”
Asked if the next World Cup would be his last, Ronaldo added: “Absolutely.”
