Struggling Tottenham Hotspur interim manager Igor Tudor looks set to avoid being sacked by the end of this week. Spurs have announced they will address the media at a press conference on Friday ahead of a daunting away game against Liverpool.
Many expected the Croatian to be sacked before the trip to Anfield, as Tudor had the worst start to life of any Tottenham manager.
His position appears to be secure for the time being, as the club announced Tudor’s attendance at Friday’s press conference. This development effectively confirmed that Tudor would occupy the Red Side dugout on Merseyside.
They have lost all four games so far, and if the North Londoner suffers a heavy defeat against Liverpool, there is no doubt that Tudor’s position will be seriously questioned. Tottenham are on a precarious path in the Premier League, sitting just one point above West Ham United in 18th place.
The Hammers host Manchester City at the weekend, while 17th-placed Nottingham Forest take on Fulham at the City Ground. If both the Hammers and Forest win and Tottenham suffer a defeat, Tudor’s side will fall into the relegation zone.
A pivotal moment occurred at the Wanda Metropolitano when Kinski was chosen to be sent off after just 15 minutes. Tudor failed to acknowledge the goalkeeper as he left the pitch, but Conor Gallagher, who started the game as a substitute, João Parinha and Dominic Solanke recognized the devastating impact his disastrous appearance could have and chased him down the tunnel.
There are also growing signs that he is losing the support of the Tottenham team. Football London understands that a number of Spurs’ stars believe he has appeared overly assertive and disrespectful since taking over.

The fact that Tudor offered no reassuring words on the pitch was noted among Spurs players. He seemed hesitant to talk about Kinski in the postgame interview, but at the press conference he modestly supported the keeper.
Coach Tudor said: “Unfortunately, this mistake happened in this important game. He was disappointed. The team is with him, so am I. I’ve talked to him. He understands the moment, he understands the reason for his exit. Like I said, He’s a very good goalkeeper. We’re with him and we’re all together. It’s not about one player. It’s the Champions League again. We paid for this start.”
