With the threat of relegation from the Premier League looming ominously, Tottenham’s board is facing growing calls for a second managerial change since the start of the season. Mr O’Hara made the appeal to former manager Mr Redknapp despite the 79-year-old preparing for the Cheltenham Festival of Horse Jumping, which opened on Tuesday.
Speaking on TalkSPORT alongside former Spurs player Jason Cundey, O’Hara said: “Stop talking about the Gold Cup! Tottenham is bigger than the Gold Cup, Jace, Harry Redknapp will give up the Gold Cup and come and manage Spurs and he will manage Spurs. They need to get someone. They need someone soon.”
“You need someone who knows the formations and sticks to them.[The Tudors]played in four different teams, four different formations. How can he take over a club of this size? He has no idea.”
O’Hara continued: “He has no idea what he’s doing. He’s a rabbit in the headlights. He doesn’t know how to get any good out of any of his players. I know these guys aren’t performing, but they’re not that bad.”
Redknapp’s horse The Jukebox Man could compete in Friday’s prestigious Gold Cup. The former manager will also appear on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! The South African version will be pre-recorded after filming in 2025 and will be broadcast on Monday, April 6, before the live grand final in London.
The former Spurs manager previously addressed rumors of a potential return, but dismissed them. He said: “Of course. I would have to, right? But it’s not going to happen and I don’t think it will happen. I’ll be at Cheltenham on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.”
Spurs next face Liverpool, who lost 1-0 away to Galatasaray in the Champions League first leg on Sunday (4.30pm kick-off). However, they will be without Micky van de Ven, who received a straight red card for failing to create a goal-scoring opportunity against Palace.
After the defeat against Atleti, Tudor said: “It’s a strange game. We gave them three points. We restarted well but then the problems spoiled us.” “It was very, very strange and very unusual. This required confidence on our part. I apologize to the fans and everyone who came here today. They had a difficult moment. Everything seemed to go wrong, but every little mistake we make up for. Even in the last situation, two players were out. Everything went against us.”
