Tottenham’s leadership is still considering their next manager, with former manager Mauricio Pochettino set to keep an eye on the north London side after Igor Tudor’s term as manager ends.
Mauricio Pochettino will continue to monitor his former club’s success after a long hiatus from Tottenham Hotspur. The Argentine left the north London club in 2019 but remains linked with a return.
The Spurs are looking for their next permanent manager following the firing of manager Thomas Frank. Croatia’s head coach Igor Tudor has been appointed on an interim basis, but so far he has not been able to spark a turnaround.
And while Spurs continue to consider their next steps, former manager Pochettino will indeed be monitoring his former team closely. According to The Athletic, the Argentine is scheduled to play Tottenham’s Champions League last-16 tie against Spain’s Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano on Tuesday.
He is expected to attend as a guest of the La Liga side and is expected to keep an eye on American star Johnny Cardoso. Pochettino is currently the manager of the U.S. national team and is in the process of finalizing the squad for the upcoming World Cup.

It will be the first time Pochettino has watched a Spurs game from the stands since he left the club. Of course, he reunited with his former team several times during the 2023/24 season, winning both Premier League games as Chelsea manager.
Pochettino has also expressed his desire to return to the north London dugout. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “I always remember when I left the club I said in an interview that I wanted to return to Tottenham someday.
“I’m not going to talk about it now because I’m in America. But what I said then, six years later, five years later, it still sticks in my mind. Yes, I would like to go back someday.”
Regarding Spurs’ recent woes, he added: “It’s good to win the Europa League, it’s good that the team won it (under coach Ange Postecoglou), but it’s not enough. It’s not enough to challenge for the Carabao Cup, the FA Cup, the Europa League and the Conference.”
“What the fans expect is a club that is going to be in the Champions League, fighting for the Champions League, trying to believe that they can win the Champions League, fighting for the Premier League and believing that they can win the Premier League, the club that it should be.”
