Neymar’s personal chef is suing Neymar for financial damages after he was made to cook for up to 150 people while working 16-hour days.
Neymar’s personal chef is suing Neymar, claiming he was forced to work 16-hour days and sometimes had to feed up to 150 people from his large entourage.
She also claims that she was injured while preparing a meal at one of Neymar’s residences in Rio de Janeiro. The former Barcelona star returned to his home country in the summer after a nightmare stint in Saudi Arabia and is now relaxing in the city of Mangaratiba in Rio de Janeiro.
He owns two villas, and it was the Casa Hotel Portobello where the chef suing Neymar worked for him from July 2025 to February this year.
She filed a lawsuit with the Regional Labor Court of Region 1, telling Brazilian news outlet Metropoles that it had seen her court documents. The chef claims that he worked 16 hours a day for Neymar and as a result had to feed Neymar and up to 150 of his friends and colleagues every day.
The original contract stated that he would work Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., but the chef claims he often worked until 11 p.m. or midnight, and on weekends. She is also believed to have persevered through her legally required lunch hour.

The chef claims that his work involved carrying pieces of meat weighing around 10 kilograms and loading and unloading heavy bags, causing the injuries. She was said to have suffered from back problems and hip inflammation.
As a result, Neymar’s former chef, who was paid £1,065 (BRL 7,500) a month, aims to receive £37,544 (BRL 262,000) in payment of severance pay, fines, additional overtime, rest, damages and medical costs.
A third-party employer who hired her on Neymar’s behalf is also named as a defendant. Forward declined to comment when asked by Brazilian media about the situation.
Neymar signed a contract extension with Santos, the club where he started his career, last June. Over the course of the season, the 34-year-old is thought to have earned £11.8m and his new deal will give him a share of the sponsorship and investment generated by teams who have benefited financially from his return.
