Bukayo Saka scored a vital point against Brighton on Wednesday night, marking his 300th appearance for Arsenal and lifting the Gunners seven points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Bukayo Saka insists Arsenal should not be bothered by critics trying to reduce their chances of winning the Premier League as they continue to win.
The England international, who scored the winning goal in the first half against Brighton on Wednesday night to move the Gunners seven points clear of leaders Manchester City, stressed that Mikel Arteta’s dressing room is free from outside scrutiny.
“We don’t hear about it, we don’t see it, we don’t read it. It doesn’t help us. We just want to go our own way and keep winning,” Saka said.
“People will say whatever they want to see. Whether we play the most beautiful football or score from a set piece, they will still say it. We just want to win games and we are now nearing the end of the season.”
Arsenal will build a remarkable 10-point cushion over City with a solid win against Everton at the Emirates Stadium next Saturday.

The fixture is the only Premier League game in five-and-a-half weeks, but the league’s hungry leaders feel strongly that the finish line is just around the corner.
After scoring his valuable goal to mark his 300th appearance for the Gunners, Saka added: “We are definitely gaining momentum.
“We have now won three big games (since dropping points against Brentford and Wolves) and we have some big games coming up before the next international break so we are excited and feeling confident.”
The 24-year-old marksman beamed as he recalled the moment news of City’s shock draw with Nottingham Forest reached the Amex.
He admitted that the surprise result at the Etihad felt like he was one step closer to glory, explaining: “When I went to applaud the fans, they made a big fuss again and I could tell something had happened in the other game and Mikel came over and told me City had drawn 2-2.
“It’s a great feeling. We fought hard because we knew it was going to be a big game for Arsenal regardless of the other results because you can’t control what the opponent does. After the win against Brighton we knew we were one step ahead in the race. It’s really great for us.”
Saka currently matches last season’s top-flight goals tally (six) and is keen to increase that total, but he is not too concerned about scoring if Arsenal can keep racking up points.
He concluded, “Yeah, I want to score more points. But at the same time, it’s about winning.”
“As an attacker, sometimes you want to contribute more to the stat sheet, but at the same time you want to win. It’s a balance. If I keep going like this and finish in this position I’ll be happy.”
