Michael Carrick’s Manchester United suffered heartbreak in stoppage time as William Osula’s stunning goal gave Newcastle 10-a-side a surprise victory.
Newcastle have shared a cheeky post mocking Manchester United after they suffered the return of William Osla. Osla, 22, scored a stunning goal in the 90th minute at St James’ Park to lead Newcastle to an unexpected 2-1 win.
Eddie Howe’s side were reduced to 10 men just before half-time after Jacob Ramsey was controversially sent off for two yellow cards. Still, Newcastle took the lead through Anthony Gordon’s goal after Bruno Fernandes awarded a penalty.
United captain Fernandes quickly made amends by setting up Casemiro’s equalizer before the end of the first half. However, in the second half, the visiting team were unable to break Newcastle down and were ultimately punished by Osla.
The Dane picked up the ball on the counter-attack and blitzed past Tyrell Malasia. Osla cut inside with his left foot and fired a shot past Harry Maguire, which uprooted Senne Lamence and into the back of the goal.

Some at United will be well aware of Osla’s talent, as he won the MU Soccer Schools World Skills Final in 2014. The forward impressed enough to win the award when he played for Old Trafford aged 11.
The ‘X’ post showed Osla receiving the Shield from United legends Bryan Robson and Gary Pallister. It read: “Congratulations to today’s MU Soccer Schools World Skills Final winner, 11-year-old William Osula from Denmark.”
Just over 11 years later, Osla are back to haunt the Red Devils. Newcastle didn’t miss the opportunity to mock their opponents, resharing a post from 2014 and writing: “Time flies.”

The winning goal was Osla’s second Premier League goal of the season and his first since August, when he was limited to just one start. The forward told TNT Sports after the game: “That was the best feeling ever. I was so happy.
“When I came out, I just prayed that I could score and make something happen, and I thanked God that it happened. I was working on that in training yesterday and all I had to do was cut in and finish it, so the hard work paid off.”
Howe added: “He had 10 shots at the end of training and wanted more. Fair play to him, the desire to repeat and practice. He gave the supporters here a great moment.”
“This is a great moment for him and he deserves it. I hope it’s a turning point for him. It’s a big moment for us. We showed that we can be competitive against any team.”
