Karim Adeyemi is yet to sign a new contract with Borussia Dortmund and is waiting to see what other options emerge as Manchester United pursue the forward.
Karim Adeyemi has put a move to the Premier League on hold as Manchester United are keen to keep him, despite Borussia Dortmund trying to keep him in Germany.
The forward is contracted in the Bundesliga until 2027 and continues to impress, which has attracted admiration from Europe’s leading clubs. Adeyemi has been criticized for what was deemed to be his “rude” behavior on the pitch and is keen to move from Dortmund.
Dortmund are trying to convince the player who has scored 34 goals in 140 games that he is an important part of their future plans and have offered him an improved contract to reflect that.
Germany’s Bild newspaper reported that Adeyemi had shown little interest in signing a deal, with the club reluctant to sign a deal while waiting to see if a Premier League suitor emerges for a summer move, but his contract does not contain a release clause.
Adeyemi has been underperforming since the start of the year, scoring just two goals and with some suggesting his contract situation is a distraction.

At the end of last year, he reacted badly to being cut from the bench and attracted unwanted attention. Adeyemi was sent off shortly after the end of his team’s 2-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach, but walked past the Dortmund bench and headed to the changing room.
Former Germany international and World Cup player Sami Khedira condemned his behavior. “I can be mad at my coach, but I support my team, my teammates,” he said. “Because they’re aware of things like that because they’re on the pitch.”
United are looking to sign a forward, particularly a left winger. They continue to spend money on their attacking team and are looking to do so again this summer, but the club would like to sign at least one central midfielder and the budget is likely to be split across multiple areas.
Dortmund, on the other hand, face a battle to keep some of their most promising players. After months of uncertainty, a decision is expected to be made soon on Nico Schlotterbeck’s future at Dortmund, including the possibility of an extension beyond 2027, although the player’s departure remains a possibility.
