Manchester United plan to sign at least one midfielder in the summer transfer window, with Old Trafford bosses preparing to bid farewell to Casemiro when his contract expires.
Bournemouth star Tyler Adams has become the latest Premier League midfielder to be linked with a move to Manchester United. The Red Devils are keen to sign a replacement for Casemiro, who will leave Old Trafford when his contract expires in June.
United are rumored to be interested in signing midfielders with a proven track record in England’s top flight, including Elliott Anderson, Adam Wharton, Carlos Bareva and Joao Neves. There is also talk of United adding two more men to their engine room, with Koby Mainu’s future in doubt amid a continuing contractual stalemate.
Adams, 27, has been named on the Red Devils’ growing shortlist. The American international is enjoying his third season at Bournemouth, having arrived in England with Leeds in 2022.
The Mail reports that Adams would be a cheap option for United, worth around £40m. Currently in third place, United still do not know whether they will play in next season’s Champions League, and failing to qualify will certainly have a negative impact on their budget in the summer transfer window.

The American recently returned from a knee injury sustained against United in December, helping Bournemouth to a 4-4 draw. Adams, who started the Cherries’ remaining two games, told the Men in Blazers podcast: “I’m in a good spot. I had a longer schedule when the injury first happened, but I was able to come back a little earlier.”
“It wasn’t ideal. You’d dream of a night at Old Trafford against Man United. That’s the biggest game you can play in the Premier League but things like that happen.”

Adams will be in the spotlight at this summer’s World Cup. The 27-year-old is a key member of tournament co-host Mauricio Pochettino’s team. “I think I was able to prove to everyone the level I can play at,” Adams continued.
“So it’s just a matter of time before I get back to that level. I just had to trust the process and be patient. When you’re in a flow state and how you feel, that’s the best way to judge your play.”
Adams will have a chance to impress for United when Michael Carrick’s side travel to Bournemouth later this month. The Cherries drew 1-1 at home to Sunderland on Saturday, leaving them 10th in the Premier League table at the weekend.
