However, with the World Cup starting in June, it remains to be seen whether the two clubs will be able to conclude a deal by then. Anderson will want to decide on his future before heading into the tournament.
But he knows his stock will rise even higher if he can help England’s success in North America. Anderson knows he could be relegated along with Forest this season.
But no matter what happens, he is going to choose a top club and believes he is ready to step up to the next level. United need to qualify for the Champions League to have any chance of beating City for Anderson’s signature.

If Forest return to the Championship, they will have no choice but to sign Anderson. Anderson refuses to be painted about his future and remains focused on helping Forest overcome depression.
He said: “It’s been a great two years. To be honest, I think I’ve done pretty well on and off the pitch during my time here.”
“I think I’ve grown as a person as well. I’m really grateful to the club for giving me that opportunity and letting me go out and play and do what I need to do.”
