Senne Ramens has had great success with Manchester United, while Andre Onana continues his loan spell at Turkish club Trabzonspor after falling out of favor.
Andre Onana wants to compete with Senne Lamence for Manchester United’s number one shirt next season and believes he will be given the chance. Onana, 29, was loaned to Turkish side Trabzonspor in September after United signed 23-year-old Lamence from Royal Antwerp for £18.2 million.
Since Lamence made his debut, the Red Devils have only lost two of their 19 Premier League games. The Belgian has also kept four clean sheets, including Monday’s 1-0 win over Everton.
But his great form didn’t faze Onana. The Guardian reports that the Cameroon international is keen to regain his place as United’s first-choice goalkeeper and is confident whoever is in charge will give him a chance.
Onana received mixed reviews in Turkey and was a failure after a shaky performance at Old Trafford. United have agreed to pay Inter Milan up to £47.2m for his services in 2023, signing him on a five-year deal.

Onana is due to return to Manchester for pre-season training this summer, meaning he has two years left on his contract. United’s other goalkeepers, Altai Baindil and Tom Heaton, both face uncertain futures. Heaton is out of contract and Bindir remains on the bench after briefly snatching Onana away earlier this season.
Now there is no debate about who should play in goal, Ramens has a firm grip on the glove. The former Antwerp star was praised by United caretaker manager Michael Carrick after Monday’s win at the Hill-Dickinson Stadium.
“You want a goalkeeper to be someone you can rely on and rely on, and you want him to take away the chaos and calm things down, not cause chaos, and I think Sene is that,” praised Carrick. “He’s very quiet and reserved at times, but he has a real steely quality. Stepping in is a big role for some people.”

Lamence was also compared to Carrick’s former teammate and United legend Edwin van der Sar by former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher. But when asked about Mr Carragher’s comments, Mr Carrick wisely dodged the question.
“I have to be careful what I say,” the Red Devils manager replied. “I don’t want to compare the two because I don’t think it’s fair to Sene. But there are certainly similarities.”
Lamence is expected to return between the posts when United take on Crystal Palace on Sunday.
