Koby Mainu appears to be about to make a decision on his long-term future at Manchester United, with one of his Red Devils colleagues already confirming he is leaving the club.
Koby Mainu has yet to be offered a new contract by Manchester United as they risk losing two of their key midfielders. The Red Devils academy graduate is under contract until the summer of 2027.
But he has seen his future at Old Trafford called into question over the past few seasons. Mainu turned down the offer of a new contract just over a year ago, but was also willing to leave the club on loan after seeing his opportunities dwindling under former manager Ruben Amorim.
Although he has re-established himself in the team under manager Michael Carrick, negotiations over a contract extension have reportedly stalled. According to The Sun, club leaders have yet to formally restart talks over a new contract.
Mainu, 20, has made 92 appearances since breaking into the first team in the 2022/23 season and is hoping to stay at the club. United will be desperate to retain fellow midfielder Casemiro, who has already announced he will leave the club this summer.
There was an option to extend his contract for a further campaign, but United confirmed that option would not be triggered. The decision gives the 34-year-old plenty of time to consider his next step.

MLS is already an option for Casemiro, as he holidayed in Florida and flew to Miami earlier this month. His wife Anna was also in Las Vegas.
And while a move to the United States is a possibility, the Brazilian is also considering staying in Europe. Casemiro still has a home in Madrid, but sources suggest a move to Serie A could be an option.
If he does, he would follow in the footsteps of his former Real Madrid teammate Luka Modric, who joined AC Milan at the start of the season.

When Casemiro decided to leave the club, he said: “I will carry Manchester United for the rest of my life.” “From the first day I left this beautiful stadium, I felt the passion of Old Trafford and the love that our supporters share for this special club.
“This is not the time to say goodbye. We have to make more memories over the next four months. We still have a lot to fight for together. My full focus, as always, remains on doing everything I can to help the club succeed.”
Regardless of the future of both Casemiro and Mainu, the Red Devils are still looking to sign a new midfielder this summer.
