Former Manchester United forward Louis Saha has told his former club to consider two players to replace Casemiro this summer.
Manchester United are being talked about which midfielder they should sign to replace Casemiro this summer. The Brazilian’s contract with Old Trafford, announced last month, is due to expire at the end of the season.
United are currently rumored to be linked with various midfield candidates who could potentially fill Casemiro’s position when the summer transfer window opens. The Red Devils have long been expected to be in the market for midfield reinforcements, and that possibility is expected to increase with Casemiro leaving the club this summer.
A number of candidates have been linked with a move to United in recent months, including Brighton’s Carlos Baleva, Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton. Speculation has been rife over Sandro Tonali’s status at Newcastle in recent weeks, with the Manchester Evening News reporting that the Italian midfielder is linked with a move to Arsenal on deadline day.
Former United striker Louis Saha has explained why he believes Tonali would be a valuable acquisition for the Old Trafford outfit, along with Newcastle colleague Bruno Guimarães. In an interview with AceOdds, the former forward said: “I’ve always been a big fan and defender of Casemiro.
“Over the last two years he was asked to play too many roles, but now he’s settled down and his role is clear. He’s proven he’s a world-class player and I understand why the fans want him to stay.”

“United need aggression and people to define the midfield. I think they have players like (Sandro) Tonali and (Bruno) Guimarães, who are monsters in midfield.”
“With a player like (Coby) Mainu, you need someone next to him with the experience and vision to manage the transition when Casemiro leaves. You need that experience, that directness, that divisiveness. It will be difficult to replace him.”
“Bringing in young players creates confusion. It’s great for the future, but you need experience. If Casemiro leaves, I think the combination of[Adam]Wharton and Guimarães would be great, because Guimarães is more of a captain.”
Tonali was linked with a move to Arsenal on deadline day earlier this month. Claims have emerged suggesting that Tonali’s agent has made an ‘offer’ for the midfielder to the Gunners, but his agent Giuseppe Riso has since denied this.
Mr. Riso offered a hint a few days later about Mr. Tonali’s future, suggesting a resolution could be reached in the coming months. He told Tuttosport: “Newcastle are struggling to let Sandro go, but he wants to take the club to the Champions League.”
“These transfer talks will take place later. We will see how the season ends and then decide what to do.
“There is no hope at the moment. It is still too early. What we said today will not apply tomorrow. Newcastle cannot afford to let him go now and there is no point in moving him, especially since Sandro is attached to the club. We will assess and decide what to do in the summer.”
