Tottenham appear to have decided on their next manager after sacking manager Thomas Frank, who left Spurs, who are five points off the relegation zone in the Premier League.
Tottenham have reached a verbal agreement with former Juventus manager Igor Tudor, who will sign him on a contract until the end of this season. Spurs will have to wait until the summer to find a replacement for Thomas Frank, but former manager Mauricio Pochettino will be the easier choice then.
Frank was relieved of his duties on Wednesday following Tottenham’s 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle. The result means Spurs are just five points clear of the relegation zone with 12 games remaining.
However, Tottenham are still in the Champions League, having automatically qualified for the last 16 after finishing fourth last month. Frank’s success in Europe was not enough to keep him in the job, with Spurs scoring one in just two of their last 17 Premier League games.
Tottenham are looking for a proven manager who can hit the ground running, and that person is expected to be Tudor, who is expected to sign a contract until June. The Croat will then make his case for the job permanently between now and the end of the campaign.

Tudor has experience as a provisional player since his time at Juventus, where he joined in March last year. The 47-year-old persuaded Juve to stay and was handed a three-year contract, but was released in October.
Having already been eliminated from the FA Cup, Spurs’ first-team players will not return to training until Monday. Tottenham’s next game is a trivial one, a north London derby at home to Arsenal.
Fans chanted Pochettino’s name during the defeat to Newcastle, with Tudor reportedly only available on an interim basis. The former Spurs manager will only accept an emotional return to north London after this summer’s tournament is held, as he is in charge of the USA team, which is co-hosting the World Cup.

Tottenham overcame a miserable winter to keep Frank, but their failure to win in the Premier League since December spelled the end for the Dane. Spurs said in a statement: “The club has made the decision to make changes to the position of men’s head coach, with Thomas Frank retiring today.”
“Thomas was appointed in June 2025 and we have been determined to give him the time and support he needs to build a future together. However, the results and performances have led the board to conclude that changes are necessary at this point in the season.”
“Thomas has acted with unwavering commitment throughout his time at the club and has done everything he can to move the club forward. We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future.”
