Barnet manager Dean Brennan has been suspended for nine games following comments he made towards referee Kirsty Dowl during a game against Shrewsbury Town in September.
Barnet manager Dean Brennan has been handed a nine-game touchline ban by the Football Association after being found guilty of referring to gender and verbally abusing a referee during a League Two match.
In December, it was revealed that Brennan, 45, had been charged with aggravated breach of FA Regulation E3.1 for allegedly making comments towards Kirsty Dowl during Barnet’s defeat to Shrewsbury Town in September.
Barnett denied the charges, but was found guilty by the independent FA Regulatory Commission and handed a nine-game touchline ban, a £2,000 fine and a compulsory education program.
Barnett confirmed the sanctions on Thursday afternoon, along with a statement from Brennan. “Throughout this matter, I have categorically denied the FA’s charges of discrimination.

“The panel has reached their conclusion and I have to respect that, but I do not agree with their decision.
“There’s a place for everyone in football, it’s the greatest sport on earth.
“Personally, soccer has given me everything I have today, and it’s all because of soccer.
“It allowed me to meet my wife and make family and friends.
“It has shaped me into the person I am today while remaining true to my Irish heritage, and I am extremely proud of that.”
Brennan, who was sent off for Dowl against Shrewsbury in September, will not be in the Burnie dugout until March 28, when the Bees face promotion hopefuls Cambridge United.
Barnet currently sit 11th in League Two, just three points away from making the play-offs.
