Thomas Frank’s woes worsened after Tottenham lost 2-1 at home to Newcastle on Tuesday, leaving Spurs just five points above the relegation zone.
Manager Thomas Frank insists he is “1,000 per cent sure” he is still suitable for Tottenham and is “confident” he will take charge against Arsenal. The Dane is currently fighting to keep his job after Newcastle recorded victory in N17 and Spurs moved closer to the relegation zone.
However, Frank believes that the entire club must take responsibility for the team’s situation, explaining: “I understand it’s easy to blame me, but I also think it’s not just the head coach, the owner, the manager, the players, the staff. It’s everyone.” Asked if he was now afraid of being fired, he said: “I spoke to them (the owners) yesterday, so I’m not.” When asked if he was confident he could get back into the swing of things, Frank added: “I’m 1000 percent sure.
“We also 1,000 percent never expected to end up in this situation with 11 and now 12 injured, but we know that when we need to build something, when we need to get through things, we need to show incredible resilience.

“I think we need to keep calm, keep going, keep fighting, keep doing the right thing and try to stick together, because we can only get through this together.” Asked if there was panic within Tottenham about potentially being in danger of being relegated, Frank replied: “Obviously we understand that we’re not in a good situation, but with everything in life you have to stay calm, keep going and keep moving forward.”

Frank further pressed on the possibility of his dismissal, adding: “I understand the mechanics of football, there’s no question about that, but I think there’s a lot of research that says that’s not necessarily the right thing to do.”
“I know that’s their only move, but there are also many situations where it’s not the right thing to do.”
