Marcus Rashford is currently on loan at Barcelona from Manchester United, with the England international hoping to make a decision on his future before this summer’s World Cup.
Manchester United are preparing for Marcus Rashford’s departure this summer as speculation continues over his future. The raw talent is currently on loan at Barcelona after being left out of the squad by former manager Ruben Amorim.
His move to Spain came six months after he signed a temporary contract with Aston Villa. Rashford spent the second half of last season on loan at the Midlands club as he fell out of favor at United, but the deal did not become permanent.
Under the terms of his current contract, Barca have the option to sign him permanently for £26 million this summer. Previous reports had suggested that the Spanish club were reluctant to meet the agreed amount and were attempting to negotiate a slight reduction.

Recent updates suggest that United had no intention of lowering their asking price, but that Barcelona are ready to trigger a clause to complete a permanent transfer. The Sun reports that United are preparing for a future without Rashford, despite suggestions from manager Michael Carrick that he is keen to have him back.
The club had no plans to bring the player back in January, with interim manager Carrick not thinking beyond the summer when his contract expires. Rashford is thought to be in favor of leaving United this summer, whether or not a permanent move to Barcelona materializes.
He reportedly wants to sort out his long-term situation before linking up with England for the North American World Cup this summer. If this is true, it would be a welcome injection of cash early in the transfer window for United as they look to strengthen their squad.
The money Rashford received will count as pure profit under the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). The 28-year-old has already made his feelings clear through comments he made in October.
“I’m really enjoying my time in Spain and the weather is great,” he said. “It’s a very big change. I’m learning every day and I’m having a lot of fun. I want to be here for a long time. I’m very good friends with Rooney[Bulge]good friends with Jules[Kounde]and Frenkie[de Jong]. We’re all a mixed team.”

“We are together, the team is great, I just have to be in the right position.
“I’m going to keep doing this. I’ve got to keep it up to be the best version. I still have a lot of work to do this season.”
Rashford has played 34 games in all competitions this season, scoring 10 goals and providing 13 assists. He will return to the pitch on Thursday when Barça face Atlético Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-finals.
