The January transfer window may have just closed, but Manchester United and Arsenal appear to be well on their way to achieving their summer goals.
Manchester United and Arsenal are reported to be interested in signing former Chelsea star Christian Pulisic, who has had an excellent season. The American winger, currently at AC Milan, has shone in Serie A over the past few seasons since leaving Chelsea.
He has scored 10 goals in all competitions for the Italian giants, following on from seasons in which he scored 15 and 16 goals respectively. And it seems these displays have not gone unnoticed, especially in the Premier League.
According to CalcioMercato, top flight clubs Man United, Arsenal and Tottenham are all eyeing the 27-year-old. It has been suggested that interested suitors could take advantage of Pulisic’s contract situation – his current contract with AC Milan expires in 2027.
An offer of around 55 million euros (about £48 million) is believed to be enough to prompt the Serie A side to sell. Chelsea signed him for £57m from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, but he struggled for consistency at Stamford Bridge, scoring just 26 goals in 145 appearances.
In the end they sold him for around £20 million. Pulisic has been backed for a move to MLS in the near future, but former Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel suggests he should only consider such a move later in his career.

Speaking to Goal, he said: “In the future, yes, it looks like this. But from an American fan perspective, I want the best players on the national team to play as many games at the highest level as possible because it makes the national team stronger against the world’s elite.”
“I like it when the players don’t know when their next contract is going to be, there’s always the next young player pushing for their spot and the players always have to get better.
“If players like Weston McKennie or Christian Pulisic come in, I would worry that they’re not just focused on developing because they’re going to be such a big force in an MLS club.

“Ultimately, I’d like to see Christian, Weston and Tyler (Adams) come back and see them all finish their careers in MLS. That would be great. But at the peak of their careers, I don’t think MLS is there yet.”
However, Pulisic is expected to be one of the marquee players for the upcoming World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The winger has amassed 82 caps and scored 32 goals for the United States since making his debut in 2016.
