Arsenal and Manchester City have already been linked with a summer swoop for Sandro Tonali, while Manchester United are also interested in the Newcastle midfielder
Sandro Tonali is on Manchester United’s summer wishlist as speculation continues to grow over the Newcastle midfielder’s future following talk of a surprise move to Arsenal in the winter transfer window.
The 25-year-old Italy star was linked with the Gunners on deadline day last week, with reports claiming he had been ‘offered’ by Mikel Arteta’s side. Tonali’s agent has since denied the rumors, but it is understood the playmaker is keen to play in the Champions League again next season, opening the door to a summer transfer.
Arsenal and Manchester City are among the teams Tonali is expected to join if he chooses to leave at the end of the season.
And the Telegraph reports that Tonali is on Manchester United’s shortlist alongside Elliott Anderson and Adam Wharton as the Red Devils plan to revamp their midfield.

United already know Casemiro will leave this summer and the Brazilian’s impending departure means they need to fill the void. Tonali, like Anderson and Wharton, has extensive Premier League experience and is unlikely to require any hospital stay.
Newcastle are set to make a big profit on the £55m they paid to bring Tonali to St James’ Park from AC Milan in the summer of 2023.
Tonali’s agent Giuseppe Riso fueled talk that his client was leaning towards a move with comments I made to Tuttosport last week.
“Newcastle are struggling to let Sandro go. He wants to lead the club to the Champions League,” he said. “We will evaluate and decide what to do in the summer. Transfer talks will take place later. We will see how the season ends and then decide what to do.”
He added: “There is no priority at the moment. It is still too early. What we say today will not apply tomorrow. Newcastle cannot afford to let him go now and there is no point in moving him, especially since Sandro is attached to the club.”
