Marcus Rashford has scored 10 goals for Barcelona since joining from Man Utd in the summer transfer window and is keen to remain at Camp Nou next season.
Hansi Flick and Deco reportedly believe it would be “virtually impossible” to find a player of Marcus Rashford’s quality before triggering his £26m permanent transfer clause from Manchester United. Reports in Spain this week suggested the La Liga champions are ready to make Rashford’s move permanent.
The 28-year-old’s loan spell at the Camp Nou is due to end at the end of the season, but he has already admitted he wants to extend his stay with the Spanish champions. Earlier this month, rumors emerged that the Catalan giants were unwilling to pay the previously agreed permanent fee and had presented United with two options. The two options are to sign Rashford for a lower fee or extend his loan for another season with a compulsory buyout in 2027.
However, that position now appears to have changed significantly, with Spanish publication Sport (via Sport Witness) reporting that Barça have decided to sign the England international, a decision that will only change if he suffers a serious injury.
Flick and Deco are believed to have “insisted” that it would be “virtually impossible” to find a player of Rashford’s caliber for €30m (£26m). And the paper also claims the forward is prepared to take a pay cut to bring him into line with the club’s well-documented financial problems.
Rashford has scored 10 goals and provided 13 assists for Barcelona so far this season, and when asked in October about a permanent move to the Catalan giants, he said: “Oh, for sure. I enjoy this football club and I think for people who love football Barcelona is one of the most important clubs in the history of football, so it’s an honor to play here.”

“I believe that things are meant to happen. This is not the first time I have talked to Barcelona about the possibility of coming here, but for some reason it didn’t happen in the past, so now is the chance to make it happen. I feel there is no better time than now.”
Speaking just last month, Flick praised Rashford: “Marcus’ performances so far have been really good so we have to manage that, but it’s (sporting director) Deco’s job to do something for next season. We have to wait.”
“There are still many months to go. For me, of course we have a top-level player in Marcus, but also our situation and what I’m so grateful for is (his desire to be here).”
