Manchester United trained with young players in their first-team squad as they aim to continue their winning momentum against Tottenham this weekend.
Manchester United have brought five young players into training ahead of Saturday’s match against Tottenham, including striker JJ Gabriel.
The club are aiming for four wins from four games under manager Michael Carrick and are on pace heading into the lunchtime game. Jack Moorhouse was one of several youngsters who took part in training on Wednesday. He recently returned from a loan spell at Leyton Orient and is looking to progress further after his recent return to Manchester.
He has been in the squad for the last four games, the first of which was against Tottenham last year. He also did not make substitute appearances in the two Europa League games against Lyon and the home draw against Arsenal.
Jack and Tyler Fletcher were also spotted with United training in front of the MUTV cameras. They are the sons of former player Darren, who remained in the club’s set-up and was interim manager of the team from two games before Carrick’s appointment until the end of the season.
Fullback Yuel Heraf, 17, also tested himself against senior professionals and remained in the main group when his fellow young players moved to other parts of the session later in the day.

15-year-old forward Gabriel also joined the first team during training. Although he is not eligible to play in a Premier League game, he is highly regarded within the club and has scored 11 goals in 16 appearances for the academy this season, with many giving him hints of big improvement.
Carrick’s presence in the building is now thought to be a huge plus for the next generation of players. The former midfielder’s son plays for the Under-16 team and his parents believe he will gain a deeper understanding of the club’s tradition of supporting young people.
In the past, manager Ruben Amorim has often made headlines for his attitude towards Koby Mainu and has made little use of the club’s young players. “Sometimes we as a club forget who we are and that’s how I feel. I know it’s all about the environment, it’s the players’ moments, they’re kids who feel entitled.”
A source recently told The Sun: “Carrick has watched his son grow up and has become a regular at the training ground. He’s a lovely, welcoming guy who always has time for everyone. People respect and admire him because of his career at United, but he has a son in the academy. “I feel like I understand what that means. My parents were appalled by Amorim’s comments. Anyone in professional football knows how difficult it is to have a career at any level of football, let alone at United.”
