Trent Alexander-Arnold closer to return from injury for Real Madrid
Trent Alexander-Arnold has given fans a glimpse of his progress on social media as he inches closer to returning from injury at Real Madrid.
The former Liverpool ace has been out since December with a torn rectus femoris muscle in his left quadriceps and is yet to feature under new manager Alvaro Arbeloa. The right-back is expected to return next month and has resumed training with the Spanish giants.
Reports from Spain claim that Arbeloa told Alexander-Arnold that he would not be part of any long-term plans, but this claim has been denied. Despite only being at Madrid for half a season, the move has not lived up to Alexander-Arnold’s expectations.

His decision to leave his childhood club for a new adventure at Real for the 2025/26 season has sparked much controversy.
He joined the Spanish team for £10 million before last summer’s Club World Cup, but injury has limited him to just 11 appearances in all competitions this season.

Alexander-Arnold is now back in training and is keen to put his injury troubles behind him, sharing snapshots of his training sessions on Instagram as he works towards returning to full fitness.
His latest injury follows a hamstring problem and has raised concerns not only about his future at Real but also about his chances of securing a place in England’s World Cup squad this summer.
Despite his departure last year, Alexander-Arnold received a heartfelt send-off from Liverpool fans after making his 354th appearance in May.
“He got what he deserved. I’m very happy for him and everyone inside and outside the club for how things worked out,” head coach Arne Slott said at the time.
“It was great when our fans were together, what a treat they were before the Tottenham game and during the Tottenham game.
“After that, I don’t think you’ll see as many special celebrations as you did four weeks ago. I don’t think you’ll see many celebrations like today.
“It’s no surprise to me that they (the fans) were just as great today all season as they were against Trent.”
