The timing couldn’t be better for the Welsh star as Wilson attracts major transfer interest
Harry Wilson is enjoying the best season of his career. And he’s doing this against a backdrop of uncertainty about his future. Wilson, 28, has already broken his best return of the past season with eight goals and four assists.
Moreover, his goals were crackers, whether it was a great finish against Liverpool or a world player against Crystal Palace. There were many choices.
The Wales international started at Liverpool and was seen as a big talent for the future, but went on to have loan spells at Crewe, Hull, Derby, Bournemouth and Cardiff before finding his home at Fulham.
Wilson, who signed for Fulham for £12 million, is currently in his fifth season at Fulham, with his contract expiring this summer.

He helped lead Fulham to seventh place, is a big goal threat and the fans absolutely love him, so there won’t be any shortage of signings in this kind of form.
The timing is great as he could represent Wales at this summer’s World Cup and his record of 17 goals in 67 caps is impressive at international level.
Fulham want to keep him, but he is still on his original contract, which begs the question of why he didn’t renew until now.
And the reality is, until this season, he didn’t get much attention. Leeds tried to sign him last summer but were unable to get a deal over the line.
Wilson was in the same position last season, but he hasn’t had a chance this season and is confident he’s back in form.
He always had talent, belief and ability. However, he has come and gone for Fulham, and while Fulham are currently in a situation where they are keen to renew his contract, Wilson also turns 29 in March so they need to be careful.
They also signed Oscar Bobb from Manchester City and although Marco Silva insists he wants to keep Wilson, he is likely to leave as a free agent in the summer.
Aston Villa are very keen and are the only club likely to make a splash in this period. Because they are a European club and have Champions League ambitions and that is important.
Leeds have once again shown interest in Brentford and Sunderland, but Wilson knows free agents can command better contracts, so it will take something amazing to tempt him and Fulham now.
But this season has shown that the mindset and mentality is great. Some players just can’t handle the uncertainty of becoming a free agent. Others chase contracts with success. Not so with Wilson. But he wasn’t distracted by uncertainty.
Wilson is much more likely to be in a camp where everything goes well, hitting all the right notes at the right time.
