Alan Brazil was co-hosting breakfast show TalkSport with Gabriel Agbonlahor when he was axed on Thursday.
Alan Brazil took a break from talkSPORT on Thursday morning after feeling unwell. The former Scotland international and Manchester United striker, 66, was appearing live alongside former Aston Villa star Gabriel Agbonlahor.
And after returning from a commercial break two and a half hours into the show, Agbonlahor confirmed that Brazil had left the studio. “You’re listening to me talk SPORT Breakfast, Gabby. Big Alan Brazil is feeling a little unwell, but he’ll be back as soon as possible,” he said.
Katie Shanahan, who appeared on TalkSPORT’s Early Breakfast Show from 5am to 6am, appeared with Agbonlahor. About 15 minutes after the former Villa star gave his first explanation, Shanahan added: “Alan Brazile is feeling a little unwell at the moment, but don’t worry for those listening, he’s fine.”

Brazil has been an integral part of TalkSPORT’s presenter lineup since its launch in 2000. The former forward was forced to retire from the professional game due to a back injury.
From 2020, his role has been reduced, and he now shares the presenting role with Laura Woods and, more recently, Jeff Stelling.
The 66-year-old sparked controversy last year when she claimed fans “don’t care” about women’s football. Brazil went on a rant as Manchester United discussed the work they need to do to get back into England’s top flight.
Fellow in-studio guest Shevern Ahern claimed one of the goals was to improve the Red Devils’ women’s team’s trophy eligibility.
However, this proposal was not accepted by Brazil. “When we talk about Manchester United, we have the utmost respect. Women’s football is more important now, but when we talk about Manchester United, we are talking about men’s football. When we talk about Mission Impossible, we are talking about the Premier League, not women’s football.”
After being told that fans actually care, he added, “Not really. I’m sorry, but the rest of the world doesn’t care. That’s true. They (don’t care). In the big picture, they don’t care.”
“No, the bigger picture is that the fans want to see Manchester United challenge in the Premier League. That’s the big picture. It’s not that important compared to the bigger picture. I’m not going to sit here and lie because it’s not.”
Fellow host Agbonlahor left his mouth wide open as Aherne responded with applause. she said. “Al, stop doing that.
“You look like a dinosaur this morning. I don’t know why you would do that,” to which Brazil replied, “I’m just kidding.”
