Liverpool are said to be interested in Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven this week, but the club are not considering selling the Dutch star this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur have no intention of selling Micky van de Ven and there is speculation that Liverpool are big fans of the talented Dutch international and could make a move for him at the end of the season.
The Premier League champions are expected to prioritize signing a top central defender in the summer transfer window after missing out on Marc Guehi, who joined Manchester City last week. And the move for Van de Ven, who has been one of the most impressive centre-backs in the top flight since joining from Wolfsburg in 2023, would fit the bill perfectly.
It was claimed on Wednesday that Liverpool have a “strong interest” in the 24-year-old, who has so far resisted attempts to tie him down to a long-term deal.

However, Sky Sports report that Tottenham have no plans to allow Van Deven to leave, with the Dutchman still having three-and-a-half years left on his contract, given the club has a one-year option to extend his current term.
This means that if Liverpool decide on Van de Ven as their top centre-back target, they will likely have to fork out an astronomical amount of money to persuade their Premier League rivals to change their minds, with a figure of £100m being mooted.
The newspaper adds that new contract negotiations are being planned soon, with the hope that Van de Ven will commit his future to Tottenham long-term and end any speculation.
Spurs head coach Thomas Frank also denied claims that Van Deven was unhappy with the club at a press conference on Thursday afternoon, saying: “I just met Mickey today. He’s very happy and smiling. He looked very happy in the changing room after the game we won. He’s a great player and a great ambassador for this club.”
“He has had perhaps the best season for the club. He is developing as a leader and a big player for the future. He is a very important player for us. Micky is a Tottenham player for us now and in the future.”
