Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is once again attracting significant attention from the Premier League after masterminding Coventry City’s promotion bid to the Championship.
Frank Lampard is said to be one of the frontrunners to replace Oliver Glasner after he stepped down as Crystal Palace’s head coach after impressing with Coventry City.
The former Chelsea and England legend, 47, has won plenty of praise for the excellent job he has done since replacing Mark Robins at Coventry in November 2024. Lampard led the Sky Blues to the top of the Championship after missing out on the play-offs last season, but they have lost just four league games this season.
Lampard has restored his reputation at Coventry after a disappointing interim return to the Chelsea manager, and his success has not gone unnoticed. And that could lead him back to London, a new report says.

According to TalkSPORT, Crystal Palace owner Steve Parish is a big fan of Lampard, who has won more points than any other Championship club since taking over at Coventry, and claims he could turn to the former Derby County manager in the Eagles’ search for a new head coach when Glasner leaves.
It remains to be seen whether Lampard will consider leaving now that Coventry have secured promotion to the Premier League, but he is likely to be taken into consideration when choosing Palace’s next manager.
Getafe’s Jose Bordalas and Rayo Vallecano’s head coach Iñigo Perez are also two names that Palace praise.
Glasner revealed in an explosive press conference last week that he would leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season – just minutes after Palace confirmed the sale of club captain Marc Guehi to Manchester City.
And after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat away to Sunderland, he launched a new attack on the club’s hierarchy, saying he felt “abandoned” following Guehi’s move to City, which was confirmed on Sunday.
His comments sparked speculation that he could be prematurely removed from his post by Parrish just 24 hours later. However, it has since emerged that Palace expect Glasner to see out his contract until the end of the season following talks with the former Eintracht Frankfurt manager.
