Tottenham entered the recruitment market before the January transfer window closed and have now increased their interest in Conor Gallagher.
Tottenham Hotspur are keen to bring former Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher back to the Premier League this month.
Spurs are looking for fresh players to help Thomas Frank’s struggling side in the January transfer window, but it remains unclear whether the Dane will be able to lead the way in bringing in new players.
Frank’s future in north London is in doubt after Spurs lost to Aston Villa in the third round of the FA Cup.
Ironically, Villa are also interested in signing the 25-year-old midfielder from Atletico Madrid and have already begun negotiations towards a permanent transfer.
As revealed by Football London, Spurs, who have long admired Gallagher, have increased their interest in him. They had previously attempted to sign the England international, who will leave Stamford Bridge for Spain in 2024.

Atletico Madrid are only open to negotiations towards a permanent deal and are not thought to intend to release Gallagher this month on loan with an option or obligation to buy in the summer.
Villa’s bid to lure Gallagher back to the Premier League has been under discussion for a week, with Spurs believed to have begun informal talks at the weekend.
Other European clubs are also interested, but are reluctant to sign him permanently this month, preferring instead to go on loan with a view to acquiring the midfielder in the future.
Gallagher, who has won 22 caps for England, may be keen to return to the Premier League as he finds it difficult to secure a regular place in Diego Simeone’s first team.
Despite appearing in 27 games for Atlético this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist, he has yet to fully match Simeone and often plays out of position.
With the World Cup just around the corner, Gallagher is understood to be keen to secure his place in the Three Lions squad and prove his worth to Thomas Tuchel.
Prior to his move to Atletico, Gallagher enjoyed huge success in the Premier League, making a name for himself during an impressive loan spell at Crystal Palace in 2021-22.
He returned to Stamford Bridge and became a key part of the first-team squad, even wearing the Blues’ captain’s armband before being pushed out in a £33m deal.
However, his time in Spain could be coming to an end, with Spurs and Villa vying for his contract.
