Barça add Van de Ven to shortlist
“It is no secret that Barça are closely monitoring the market for centre-backs in order to strengthen their squad for next season. It is clear that now is the time for the Catalan club to bring in a first-choice defender, preferably a left-handed player,” the report said.
“The sporting director has been in contact with several names, including Nico Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund), Alessandro Bastoni (Inter Milan) and Marc Göch (Crystal Palace, right-hander), but there is a dark horse on the list.
“That’s Micky van de Ven, a Dutch international who is keen to leave Tottenham this summer and would welcome a move to Barça.
“Sports Management views the signing of a centre-back as a strategic move and is confident that the resources are available to accommodate a high-level transfer.
“Although the main obstacle is the intense competition and left-footed players are very popular on the market, there is also optimism as some footballers will prioritize a transfer to Barça if they decide to leave their current club.”
Premier League clubs eye Bosnian star
Another centre-back in high demand, Sassuolo’s Tarik Muharemovic, is also among those interested in the former Juventus player, with Manchester United among those interested.
Aston Villa and Bournemouth are also reportedly interested in “one of the best centre-backs in Serie A this season”.
The newspaper added: “Aston Villa, Manchester United and Bournemouth are pursuing the defender. Inter Milan are also interested and are considering him as a replacement for Stefan de Vrij. Bologna have also inquired about his status and Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has confirmed this.”
“However, Aston Villa, Manchester United and Bournemouth have raised the alarm regarding Juventus because the Bianconeri have a 50% sell-on clause in Muharemovic’s current contract, which could potentially work in their favor, especially if they make a serious approach.”
“The 22-year-old is currently valued at 30 million euros, but Sassuolo are not interested in selling him in January. Their aim is to further increase Mujaremović’s value by the summer. Mujaremović, who was acquired from Juve for 3 million euros, could now make an even bigger capital gain.”
Tottenham want to sign Shade
Kevin Shade has been in great form for Brentford this season, scoring six goals in the Premier League, including a recent hat-trick against Bournemouth.
His impressive form has alerted potential suitors, with former coach Thomas Frank’s Spurs top of the list and keeping a close eye on his situation across London.
Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg said: “Kevin Schade is someone to keep an eye on this summer and a move after the World Cup seems likely at this point.”
“However, Brentford still want him to stay and are keen to extend his contract beyond 2028. A number of clubs are interested. As has become clear, Tottenham are one of the teams keeping a close eye on him. He is valued at between €50m and €60m.”

Madrid ‘top candidate’ for Schlotterbeck
However, Dortmund are reported to be offering a €50 million price tag for the 26-year-old to any club interested in a move this summer.
However, that does not prevent Madrid from making a move, as Los Blancos could lose both Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba at the end of this season.
