Semenyo, 26, joins the club on a contract until the end of the 2030/31 season.
“I have been watching City for the last 10 years under Josep Guardiola and they have been the dominant team in the Premier League and have had great performances in the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.
“They are a club that sets the highest standards and has world-class players, world-class facilities and one of the greatest managers in Pep’s history.”
Semenyo joined Bournemouth in the January 2023 transfer window and made 110 appearances for the club.
The Ghana international has scored 10 goals from the left wing so far this season, including his dramatic winner against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night, his final appearance as a Bournemouth player.
“Being at this club at this stage of my career is perfect for me as I have a lot of room for improvement. It’s a real honor to be here,” Semenyo continued.
“My best football is yet to come, I’m convinced of that. And City are in a great position, with four competitions still to play. I really feel I can help them have a strong second half of the season.”
“The Etihad is my new home. I can’t wait to play in front of the fans here and show everyone what I can do.”
Manchester City are second in the Premier League, six points behind Arsenal, and are aiming for their seventh title in nine seasons.
Guardiola’s side face Exeter City in the FA Cup third round on Saturday afternoon, before facing Newcastle in the League Cup semi-final next Tuesday.

Semenyo’s move also means he is likely to experience Champions League football this season, something that has long been an ambition of the 26-year-old.
“When I was a kid, I always dreamed of playing in the Champions League. Thank God I now have that chance,” he said.
“I hope to move on to the next stage. It’s my dream to listen to music and be on the pitch… It’s a dream come true. I’m looking forward to it. I can’t wait.”
