Mohamed Salah supports Liverpool cult hero after criticism of Jamie Carragher | Soccer | Sports

Former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren threw his weight behind Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian’s explosive outburst. Salah’s scathing comments, which were left on the bench after Saturday’s draw with Leeds United, have divided opinion among Anfield fans.

Jamie Carragher has given his thoughts on Salah’s damning verdict on Arn Slott and the current state of the Merseyside team on Monday Night Football. Liverpool face Inter Milan in a crucial Champions League clash on Tuesday, but the encounter in Italy comes after a dramatic 48 hours. Lovren, who played alongside Salah during his time at Anfield and represented Croatia at international level, backed Salah following his notable comments in an unscheduled exchange with journalists at Elland Road.

The former Reds defender posted a message to Salah on Monday night, with the red heart emoji, as the Liverpool star comes under fire for his comments.

During his rant, Salah claimed he had been “thrown under the bus” by Liverpool. “I think it’s clear that someone was trying to put all the blame on me,” he said.

“I’ve said many times before that I had a good relationship with the coach, but suddenly it stopped.

“I don’t know why, but the way I look at it, it seems like no one wants me in the club. I feel like the club threw me under the bus.

“That’s how I feel. I think it’s clear that someone was trying to put all the blame on me. This club, I will always support, my children will always support. I love the club very much and always will.”

“To be fair, it (the situation) is unacceptable to me. I don’t understand it. It’s like I’m being thrown further under the bus. I don’t think I’m the problem. I’ve done a lot for this club.”

“Now that I’ve earned my position, I don’t have to fight for my position every day. I’m not better than anyone, but I’ve earned my position. That’s football. That’s football.”

Carragher did not hesitate to criticize Salah’s reaction to his third successive appearance on the bench, saying: “I thought his behavior after the game was disgraceful.

“Every time Mo Salah stops in a mixed zone (he has done so four times in eight years at Liverpool), it is choreographed by him and his agents to do maximum damage and strengthen his position.

“I think he chose to do this this weekend and was waiting for a bad result for Liverpool.

“I think you can see by the last-minute goal that Liverpool supporters, the manager and everyone involved at the club feel like they’re in a bind at the moment, and he’s choosing that moment to bring on a manager and maybe even sack him.”

“The club made the right decision in that[Salah]will not go abroad now. I don’t know if he will play for Liverpool again.

“I hope he does, because he’s one of the greatest players we’ve ever had. But if you keep going like that and say things like that when he doesn’t play, who knows?”
