Mohamed Salah trained with his Liverpool teammates for the first time since his outburst. The Egyptian has made an outburst about his satisfaction at Anfield after being left off the bench for three games in a row.
Salah remained absent as an unused substitute during the 3-3 stalemate with Leeds United. Dominik Szoboszlai came on as a substitute and scored, but Liverpool twice gave up the advantage and Ao Tanaka equalized in stoppage time. The 33-year-old’s future remains uncertain, with the Egyptian set to join up with the national team next week for the African Cup of Nations.
Saudi Arabia is reportedly patrolling and monitoring developments on Merseyside after Salah claimed that he had been “pinned under a bus.” He was also seen leaving the AXA training center on Sunday amidst the media frenzy following his comments.
The attacker was spotted driving a black Rolls Royce and smiling for photographers gathered outside the training facility. Following the draw with Leeds, which left them three points clear of the top four, Salah took part in regular recovery sessions with his colleagues.
Speaking in the Mixed Zone at Elland Road, Salah said: “I’ve done a lot for this club in the past, especially last season. Now I’m sitting on the bench and I don’t know why. It’s like the club threw me under the bus.”
“That’s how I feel. I think it’s clear that someone was trying to put all the blame on me. I had a lot of promises in the summer, but I’ve been on the bench for three games so far, so I can’t say they’re keeping their promises.”
“Yes, there is no relationship between us (him and Arne Slott). We had a very good relationship and now all of a sudden there is no relationship.”The Reds return to European action on Tuesday before heading off on an important trip to Italy to face Inter Milan in the Champions League.
Following a 4-1 upset at home to PSV Eindhoven, Liverpool desperately need three points to get their season back on track. Currently outside of the automatic qualification range, they are looking at the possibility of advancing to the final tournament with a tie in the playoffs.
“I have said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager and suddenly we have no relationship. I don’t know why, but from my point of view it seems like someone doesn’t want me at the club.”

His explosive comments following Saturday’s standoff cast further doubts over his involvement with Milan. All eyes are now on Kirkby on Monday, with Liverpool holding a public training session from 11.45am, before manager Arne Slott is scheduled to address the media at around 6pm.
