The modern-looking arena opened in 2009 and has enough seating for 80,000 spectators. It is one of the largest venues for the World Cup, and will host nine matches, the most out of all 16 venues.
However, fans attending the England vs. Croatia match will likely have to shell out a hefty penny for alcoholic drinks. According to The Sun, a pint costs the equivalent of £7.28.
England’s second group match against Ghana will be played at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. Known as Boston Stadium during the World Cup, it has enough space to accommodate just under 65,000 fans.
Pints are slightly cheaper there at £6.43 a pint, a relative bargain given the soaring prices across the country. However, the stadium will not have a roof, meaning fans will be desperate for dry weather.
Those attending England’s final group game against Panama, who last faced them at the World Cup eight years ago, will be forced to pay significantly more for a pint.
Games are typically played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, home of the NFL’s New York Giants and New York Jets. During the World Cup, it will be known as New York-New Jersey Stadium.
Fans wanting to buy a pint in the stadium will have to pay around £10 a pop and, despite costing nearly £1bn to build, there is also no roof.
As always, England will be cheered on by thousands of fans at the World Cup and Tuchel understands the importance of giving them something to cheer about.
“It’s a difficult group, a difficult opening match. It’s a difficult group with Croatia and Ghana, two World Cup regulars, and two proud and strong countries,” he said after Friday’s draw.
“Panama, I don’t know much about Panama at the moment, but of course we will know about it before the tournament starts.
“For me, I have only experienced group football in the Champions League format and the way I approached it was always to have the utmost respect for it and focus on winning the group.
“As difficult as it always seems with our group right now, we are confident and will be well prepared when we arrive.”
