Manchester United surrendered the lead to draw with West Ham, with Roy Keane fuming at lack of influence from the sub-bench – targeting Mason Mount
Manager Roy Keane accused Manchester United’s subs of being “low level” and claimed Mason Mount looked like a “schoolboy” when he came on from the bench.
The Red Devils were once again outclassed in front of their fans for the second time in 10 days, held by lowly West Ham, who remain in the bottom three. Despite taking the lead, they were forced into a corner and had to settle for another stalemate.
Amorim continued to make changes to boost United’s home advantage, but was unable to influence the match. After Dalot scored the opening goal of the match, Amorim made a number of changes, including bringing on Mount and Manuel Ugarte for Matheus Cunha and Joshua Zirkzee.
Mount proved to be the winner on Sunday as United came from behind to beat Crystal Palace, but the former Chelsea man failed to make a similar impact and Keane was particularly frustrated.
“If you look at the team considering the money spent, we lack depth, especially in attack,” the Irishman told Sky Sports.

“When I was trying to watch the game, I remember when Mason Mount came on. Some players take a while to get up to speed, but he was like a school kid. You want players who can come in with presence. If anything, they brought United down a level, and it looked like that was the case tonight.”
The draw in Manchester means the Red Devils have won just one of their last five Premier League games, but only one of those games has ended in a defeat. Keane continued his rant, expressing concern about the players’ inability to accept the tough conditions.
“The reason you play for Man United is to deal with situations like this,” he said. “You try to deal with a team in the bottom three and against 10-man Everton with a one-point lead. If you can’t deal with that, how are you going to deal with a team above the table?”
Jeers could be heard at full-time, but the Manchester side still sit in eighth place, just two points off the top four. Their next assignment is a trip to winless Wolves, who sit at the bottom of the table, and a win would be satisfying.
