Marcus Rashford has been in great form at Barcelona since joining on loan from Manchester United, scoring six goals and providing seven assists in 18 appearances for the Spanish giants.

Sergio Aguero has stressed the importance of Marcus Rashford being included in England’s squad for the 2026 World Cup. The Manchester United player, currently on loan at Barcelona, has been a mainstay in the Three Lions’ lineup since manager Thomas Tuchel took over earlier this year.

Rashford’s most recent match for England included an assist in a 2-0 win over Albania. Now he will aim to continue his form with Spain competing for World Cup qualification.

Regarding Rashford’s performances in La Liga, Aguero told Stake: “I think Rashford is doing very well. He’s scoring goals, he’s providing assists and he seems to be adapting very well to the team.”

“He is one of the players called up by coach Tuchel and has been given minutes. Only Tuchel knows who will be the starter. Just being in the team is very important.”

Since joining Barcelona, Rashford has scored six goals in his first 18 games across all competitions, and has gone on to score a further seven goals. The Catalan giants currently sit at the top of La Liga with a one point lead over arch-rivals Real Madrid.

Despite the thrill of the move to Spain’s second city, Rashford has previously revealed that he is most looking forward to playing at Camp Nou.

When the loan move was confirmed, Rashford said: “It’s a great feeling. It’s a beautiful stadium and it’s going to be incredible when it’s full.”

“The Camp Nou has always been one of my favorite stadiums and one that I’ve always wanted to play in. But playing there as part of Barcelona will be a different feeling. I can’t wait to get on the pitch. I want to enjoy it.”

Rashford’s dream came true on Saturday when he came on in the second half of Barcelona’s game against Deportivo Alaves. This was the club’s second game at the newly renovated stadium, with Rashford missing the first game due to illness.

This legendary venue has been undergoing renovations since 2023. During this period, Barcelona held their “home” matches at the Lluís Companies Olympic Stadium, which had a capacity of 55,000 people.

The goal of the renovated Camp Nou is to increase the seating capacity to 105,000 people. However, the number of spectators was limited to 45,000 for the first two games. The refurbishment project is estimated to cost around £1.25 billion.

Rashford returned to the Premier League pitch last month when Barcelona faced Chelsea in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge, a game Enzo Maresca’s side won 3-0. Back in September, the 28-year-old shone on England’s turf with a stunning double in a 2-1 win over Newcastle at St James’ Park.

Barcelona are not scheduled to play any more English teams in the Champions League group stage, but Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool are all in good form and could still qualify for the knockout stages.

On the domestic front, Rashford will be focused on helping Barcelona win back-to-back La Liga titles. If he continues to perform well in Spain, there is a good chance he will make the move permanent.
