Erling Haaland seemed confident he could reach another 100 goals in the Premier League after Manchester City won a nine-goal battle against Fulham to reach triple figures.
Erling Haaland was asked if he had aspirations of another century after joining the Premier League 100 club on Tuesday, and he replied: “Why not?”
The Manchester City ace scored nine goals in a thrilling game against Fulham, becoming the fastest player in the competition’s history to reach triple-figure goals. He has been prolific this season and Haaland is clearly confident he has many more goals to come.
There was debate over whether the Norwegian, who holds the record for most goals in a single season, could overtake Alan Shearer as the most prolific man in Premier League history. For that to happen, he will have to spend most of his career with the Manchester team.
Haaland’s goal put them on track to win their third Golden Boot in England’s top flight in four years, while the defender’s four goals against Fulham ensured they remain in the title race.
The striker said: “It’s a proud moment. 100 for the club is a big thing. It’s great to get there so quickly. I’m proud and happy. I’ve said it many times, a City striker should score a lot of goals. That’s my job, that’s what I try to do. And I’m not bad at it! I should have got a hat-trick and I had a few chances. I need to practice.”

Haaland twice saw his shot bombard the woodwork at Craven Cottage, which City had to endure as Fulham launched a late charge. The hosts worked hard to prevent an equaliser, but a frenetic night left Pep Guardiola’s side within two points of Arsenal.
The Gunners have a chance to fight back, but the City manager insists he is ready for the long game, knows the new year is delayed and believes his team can survive the long game.
“We know what we have to do, we know that if we drop points it will be very difficult. We have to be prepared that it will be difficult, but at the same time the Premier League is very long,” he said.
“I promise you, I’m the oldest manager in the Premier League and I have enough experience to fight for a long, long time to win the Premier League. It’s been a long time.”
“The Premier League is so long that a lot can happen. We’ve won the Premier League six times, but we’ve lost four or five times in December, January and February.”
