Tottenham faced Newcastle in the Premier League on Tuesday night, which ended in a 2-2 draw. Spurs also had a disappointing result against Fulham, coming into the game having won just three of their last 13 games. They faced a Newcastle side who are in excellent form with seven wins from their last nine games, but St James’ Park has not been a favorable venue for the north London side in recent years.

There was considerable pressure from Newcastle in the first half, with Joelinton hitting a low shot against the left post. Spurs had four consecutive shots on target in the first half, but improved after the break until Bruno Guimarães scored from the edge of the box in the 71st minute.

However, Spurs equalized seven minutes later when the returning Romero headed home Mohamed Kudus’ cross. But the drama didn’t end there as referee Tom Bramall was directed to the monitor to check on a scuffle between Bentancur and Dan Byrne, resulting in a penalty for the hosts, which Anthony Gordon confidently converted.

Romero wasn’t finished either, scoring a stunning goal with an overhead kick in the 94th minute, ensuring a draw for the North London team. Here are the Spurs player ratings…

Guglielmo Vicario

After Miley made a low save early on in the first half, traveling Spurs fans chanted his name repeatedly. Barnes made a good save early in the second half, but could not get close to Guimarães’ curling shot in the 70th minute. 7.

Pedro Polo

Despite his hard work, he put Spurs at risk with a loose backheel early on and had some difficult moments down the flank. 6.

Cristian Romero

Returning from suspension for cumulative yellow cards, he was booked here for a late challenge on Joelinton within 25 minutes. Barnes took a chance on the Newcastle man just after the break and fended him off.

But he turned the game around with a diving header and an acrobatic overhead kick. His defense was shaky that day, but he scored a goal that the offensive line couldn’t. 9.

Kevin Danso

He was Spurs’ best defender in the first half and headed Voltemade’s shot from the goal line after the break. He had a solid performance throughout. 8.

Destiny Udogie

There were some careless moments among the good goals conceded, but like Polo at the other end, Newcastle found plenty of chances down the flanks. The last one seemed to be limping. 6.

Pape Matar Saal

He worked hard in the center of the pitch, but his performances were not of the highest quality. 6.

Rodrigo Bentancur

He alternated between bad scenes and good moments, and was given a harsh penalty decision. 6.

Mohammed Kudus

He scored his first goal with a nice cross from Romero, and early on he provided Bergvall with a low cross, but he struggled to break through at times, putting Spurs in difficult positions on several occasions outside their own box. You will get an assist boost. 7.

Lucas Bergvall

Playing the role of number 10, he excelled in pressing and tracking back on the pitch. His shot from Kudus’ cross was over the bar. 7.

brennan johnson

We made some good runs in the first half but went unnoticed by Kudus and Polo. In the second half, Livramento made a clearance on the goal line.

His touch wasn’t always precise, but he continued to try to stretch Newcastle’s defence. 6.

Randall Kolo Muani

He worked hard, ran around the pitch, did thankless tasks, but never got paid. 6.

Sub.

Richarlison

They came and tried to cause trouble up front. 6.

Xavi Simmons

We tried to get the ball into the box as often as possible. 6.

matistel

As Spurs were chasing the match, there was a moment of carelessness with the ball, which infuriated Frank. 5.

archie gray

He came on late in the game and made some important little touches. Not applicable.

Wilson Odbert

I couldn’t make a big impact in the final moments. Not applicable.
