Liverpool are currently in very poor form and one of their big summer signings, Florian Wirths, has been warned that he could be sent out on loan if his form doesn’t improve.
Didi Hamann says Florian Wirths is in a race against time to save his Liverpool career, with the former Reds midfielder expecting to be loaned out in January if he doesn’t improve quickly.
The 22-year-old German star joined the Premier League champions for a record fee of £116 million in British history, but that was eventually surpassed by Liverpool in favor of Alexander Isak on the final day of the summer transfer window. However, Arne Slott’s side have struggled this season, with neither Wirtz nor Isak achieving the heights expected.
Slott himself is under pressure with nine losses in 12 games. Wirths is under scrutiny for his lack of goal contributions, as he has yet to score or assist in the Premier League.

And Herrmann believes the former Bayer Leverkusen players need to prove they can make it in England by Christmas or risk an embarrassing loan end in the New Year.
“Florian Wirtz had a chance to perform,” he told CoinPoker.com. “The team hasn’t had a lot of shots since the start of the season, but he’s had chances over the last six to eight weeks.
“Even the games against Bournemouth, Newcastle and Burnley, which were probably games we didn’t deserve to win, we won. He played in all of them. He’s had the chance to perform over the last three months.
“What are we supposed to believe that he will do that now when the team looks like a mess? When you come in and there are rifts and problems within the team, it’s not easy. I don’t know what it is or why it happens.”
Hamann continued: “I think he has to show his worth by Christmas. It’s not easy because, as I said, the team is not functioning at the moment.”
“If he doesn’t do that between now and Christmas, I’m sure the club will work with him to see what’s best for both parties.
“Could he still leave Liverpool on loan in January? Yeah.”
