Arsenal continue to lead the race for the Premier League title, with Mikel Arteta’s side looking to extend their advantage at the top of the table when they take on Chelsea.
Arsenal continued their excellent start to the season with a 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League, keeping Mikel Arteta’s side unbeaten in Europe’s top competition. The Gunners have conceded just one goal in this competition so far, following games against Athletic Club Bilbao, Olympiakos, Atletico Madrid, Slavia Prague and Bayern.
Their amazing defensive record was broken by Julien Timber’s opening goal, which was then broken by Renato Karle for Vincent Kompany’s side, who equalized just after the half-hour mark. However, Arsenal showed their quality and won with goals from Noni Maduke and Gabriel Martinelli.
Chelsea had an impressive win over Barcelona, but Manchester City, Liverpool and Spurs fared less well in the Premier League, losing to Bayer Leverkusen, PSV and PSG in Europe. Attention has returned to the domestic game, with Arsenal currently leading the race for the Premier League title.
Arteta’s side are six points ahead of their next closest rivals, Chelsea. Depending on other results, Arsenal could extend their lead at the top of the table to nine points in the trip to London. Last weekend, they took advantage of losses to Manchester City and current Premier League champions Liverpool.

The latter of Arsenal’s two title rivals is in crisis, having lost five of their last seven games in all competitions, including a 4-1 thrashing by PSV in the Champions League on Wednesday.
