Liverpool manager Arn Slott is under increasing pressure after the champions suffered a shock defeat to Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday, their sixth defeat in seven Premier League games.
Wayne Rooney has instructed Arne Throp to sack Liverpool legend Mo Salah. Salah has come under fire following his side’s recent disastrous 3-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest.
The champions have lost six of their last seven league games and are languishing in 11th place in the Premier League table. Salah failed to register a goal or assist and lost the match against Forest. The Egyptian superstar has not yet reached the heights of last season, when he was named ‘Player of the Year’ after topping both the goalscoring and assist charts.
However, Rooney accused Salah of not doing enough to help the team. And the former England and Manchester captain believes removing Salah will send a serious message to other losers in the slot.

He told the Wayne Rooney Show: “If I was in the slot, I would try to make big decisions because it affects the rest of the team. Salah is not helping the team defensively.”
“If you’re one of the players they signed and you’re on the bench and you see him not running – and again he’s a club legend and everything he’s done for the club – but if you’re on the bench, what message does that send to you?”
Meanwhile, Rooney believes the tragic death of Liverpool striker Diogo Jota in a car crash in the summer may be a reason for his side’s struggles in the slot.
He added: “They’re going through a tough time, right? They have to think about the impact of the sad events on Jota.
“How does that affect the players? It’s his teammate. It definitely has an effect. But then there’s no excuse not to fight, not tackle.”
