Leeds may decide to make changes to the dugout at Elland Road as Daniel Farke continues to struggle to get the best out of his players. Los Blancos have lost five of their last six Premier League games and have fallen into the relegation zone as a result.
Last season, Falke led his side to the top of the table once again as Leeds edged out Burnley to win the Championship title. But the German may be running out of time to show his bosses he can keep the Yorkshire club in the Premier League. And Express Sport is considering five candidates to replace him.
bo svenson
Danish manager Bo Svensson has been out of work since leaving Union Berlin in December last year.
The 46-year-old previously enjoyed success with Mainz, defying the odds and managing to keep the club in the Bundesliga in the 2020/21 season. He then established Mainz as a top half team in the elite division of German football.
Marco Rose
Manager Marco Rose is also currently out of work after being at RB Leipzig from September 2022 to March 2025.
The 49-year-old led RB Salzburg to two Austrian titles before winning the German Cup with Leipzig. He also coached Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Brendan Rodgers
Brendan Rodgers ended his playing career at Celtic last month after the club’s owner Dermot Desmond launched a blistering attack on the Northern Irishman in an explosive statement.
And Rodgers may want to return to football as soon as possible to show he still has what it takes to succeed at the top.
Rodgers almost led Liverpool to the Premier League title in 2013, but the Reds were then snatched by Manchester City. However, his recent experience in English football saw him leave Leicester in April 2023 as the Foxes suffered relegation.
Steven Gerrard
Steve Gerrard may be tempted to bid for the Leeds top job in a bid to revive his managerial career.
The former Liverpool midfielder won the Scottish Premiership title with Rangers in 2021 but was later released by Aston Villa after jumping ship and moving to the West Midlands. He then spent 18 months in Saudi Arabia before resigning as Al Etifaq’s head coach in January.
frank lampard
Gerrard’s former England team-mate Frank Lampard could also pique the interest of the Leeds bosses.
The 47-year-old agreed to step down as Championship manager at Coventry last year after previously managing Chelsea and Everton. And the former midfielder’s reputation as a manager was at an all-time high after his side beat West Brom 3-2 at the weekend to move seven points clear of the Sky Blues at the top of the Championship.
