Ian Wright reveals feelings for Jude Bellingham after England’s anger | Soccer | Sports

Ian Wright has insisted the media “need to pick up on this kind of beef” with Jude Bellingham after he was criticized for his poor substitution during England’s win over Albania. The Real Madrid sensation returned to international duty after missing several teams and featured in most of the 2-0 win. Manager Thomas Tuchel decided to remove him with six minutes remaining and bring on Morgan Rodgers.

After the game, Tuchel was asked about Bellingham’s response to his sending off, amid speculation that Bellingham had stormed off the pitch with his arms thrown up in frustration. But images of him celebrating contradicted this narrative, and Mr Wright defended him, claiming the controversy was fabricated to spur discussion in the lead-up to this summer’s World Cup.

The Arsenal legend also suggested he was frustrated by critics saying they “hate not being able to listen to him”, with Bellingham ignoring recent disapproval and inaction to win an England call-up under Tuchel.

Wright posted on social media: “They need to have this kind of beef because there’s nothing else to talk about until the World Cup and this will continue all the way to the World Cup. They hate that they can’t go to him. They hate that they can’t negatively impact his club career like they’ve done for so many before him. A privileged young man full of talent and love.”

Bellingham has been a controversial figure in England, attracting attention for his attitude and strong personality.

The Three Lions star was accused by the England manager of “disgusting” behavior during the summer, but Tuchel subsequently declined to speak out.

However, the German player stressed that team unity takes precedence over individual egos.

England have previously faced accusations of forcing star players into the same line-up rather than prioritizing tactical structure and possibly leaving out familiar names.

Tuchel has already made it clear that Bellingham, Harry Kane and Phil Foden may not be in the same starting XI at the same time.

Following Bellingham’s apparent reaction in Albania, Tuchel vowed to examine how players reacted to substitutions.

He said: “We have to review it. I understand he is not happy. We don’t want to get bigger than we are at the moment. My words are correct. We value standards, levels and commitment to each other and we respect each other. We are not going to change or make decisions just because someone waves their arm.”
