The Premier League resumes next week after the November international break, with Liverpool and Manchester United likely to have a significant advantage
Liverpool and Manchester United could be even better off than their Premier League rivals once the international break ends. Clubs will return to top-flight action next weekend as the final two-week break of the calendar year draws to a close.
United drew 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur before the international break, while Liverpool lost 3-0 to title rivals Manchester City. The result means the Red Devils and Anfield outfit are now just one point apart in the Premier League table after 11 games played.
Liverpool have lost five of their last six Premier League games in recent weeks, severely damaging their title hopes. United have moved up to seventh in the table and have ambitions of qualifying for the Champions League this season.

The return of top-flight football will see Liverpool and United determined to get back to winning ways despite failing to pick up three points in their last meeting. The upcoming match could be a big boost for both clubs.
Sky Sports has compiled a list of the clubs who will have the most and least difficult matches to play in the coming weeks. The latest report states that United have had the easiest run of games, with Liverpool having the second easiest run of games.
United’s next five games will be against teams currently 13th (Everton), 10th (Crystal Palace), 18th (West Ham), 20th (Wolves) and 9th (Bournemouth). Liverpool’s fixture list is a bit simpler, with the reigning champions facing teams in 19th (Nottingham Forest), 18th (West Ham), 4th (Sunderland), 16th (Leeds United) and 11th (Brighton).
Arsenal currently lead the Premier League with a seven-point lead over seventh-placed United, and eight points ahead of eighth-placed Liverpool. The Gunners are four points behind second-placed Man City with the November international break almost coming to an end.
Former Everton manager Sean Dyche will also return to Merseyside when Liverpool face 19th-placed Forest at Anfield this weekend. United will also face the Merseyside side, who are home to Everton, on Monday Night Football, a game in which former Red Devils manager David Moyes will return to Manchester and be in the opposition dugout at Old Trafford.
After the loss to City, Liverpool manager Arne Slott said: “The last thing we need to talk about is the title race. We have to focus on getting a result.”
“Before we could even think about it, results were coming one after the other. The reality is we are eighth. City are currently four points behind us, but one team is far ahead.”
“I said it many times last season. The best way to judge the standings is after 38 games. The next best way is after 19 games. Our final focus should be on the title fight. We have to improve, that’s clear.”
