As for his next job in football, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the former Liverpool boss is set to return to the sidelines, but not in a managerial capacity.
Jurgen Klopp has confirmed his return to the touchline with a cheeky video revealing his latest adventure. The German quit his job as Liverpool manager in the summer of 2024, but has remained steadfast ever since with no desire to return to management.
The 58-year-old returned to football in January 2025, taking up a consultancy role as head of global football for the Red Bull organization.
Furthermore, it was revealed last month that he had secured a new position in the German Football League (DFL), joining an expert committee focused on strengthening the country’s football.

However, Klopp has now revealed his latest role, confirming he will work as a pundit for Magenta TV at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Canada, Mexico and the United States, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Announced via a social media clip on Friday morning, the former Liverpool manager couldn’t help but tease his return from the sidelines before revealing the nature of his future position.
“Many of you know better than usual,” he said in a voiceover, accompanied by footage of him walking around the stadium. But I myself couldn’t really imagine it.
“Going back to the sideline? I haven’t missed anything. This is what I always thought. But now it’s starting to tingle again. The grass under my feet. The frenzied atmosphere of the stadium. And I want to be really close again.”
Afterwards, Klopp once again denied suggestions of returning as manager on camera.
“Oh? No, not as a manager,” he clarified. “I will be a pundit for Magenta TV at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.”
Klopp was then seen making a video call to German TV presenter and journalist Johannes B. Kellner.
“Hello, Johannes,” he began. “I’m in! See you in Mexico on June 11th! That’s a cool word. No one could possibly say it except Indiana Jones.”
Klopp also teased his return in the caption accompanying the video, writing: “Grass underfoot, atmosphere in the stadium, so close! Looking forward to being back on the sideline!”
