Marcus Rashford, on loan from Manchester United, credits Barcelona manager Hansi Flick for regaining his confidence ahead of the decision to sign him permanently.
Marcus Rashford’s manager Hansi Flick’s future could once again be thrown into doubt with reports that he could leave Barcelona at the end of the season. Rashford joined the Spanish giants on loan from Manchester United in the summer.
He spent his first months at the club successfully, scoring 6 goals and providing 5 assists in 14 games. This follows reports that Barcelona are already considering a permanent move after the end of his loan deal, which includes a buy option which, if triggered, would see United receive around £26m next summer.

Rashford himself has expressed his desire to remain in Spain. But the uncertainty surrounding Mr Flick could make matters worse.
According to Spanish broadcaster ABC, Flick informed his staff of his decision to step down as head coach at the end of the season.
The manager is said to be becoming “fed up” with the atmosphere within the team and perceived cultural issues within the dressing room.
However, a contrasting report from Sky Germany claims that Flick is happy at Barcelona and is keen to continue the project. He is said to be very happy with the club and has no intention of leaving.
Flick is a big fan of Rashford and is likely to be one of the key figures pushing for a permanent deal in the summer. The manager made his feelings clear after the forward’s latest goal in the 3-1 win over Elche in La Liga.
“One or two more goals would have been good for him,” he said. “I’m happy for him. I know he can play at this level and he showed it. He’s an important player.”
If Flick leaves in the summer, his replacement could have a different stance on a permanent deal and look elsewhere for reinforcements. However, the deal may not be just about Barcelona, and Flick’s potential departure could influence Rashford’s decision.
The forward spoke about how Flick had helped him during his short spell at the club. “He is very important. I feel the confidence he has given me,” he told TNT Sport.
“I knew he was a top manager before I came here and it’s been a pleasure to work with him.
“I hope our relationship continues for the rest of the season.”
Given the already established relationship, Rashford could look elsewhere if Flick leaves Barcelona in the summer. United will be keeping an eye on this situation over the coming months.
